1. | Boil basmati rice saffron in salted water |
2. | Add salt and cook the Lentils by adding enough water so that it becomes mushy but not completely soft |
3. | Melt a cup of butter in a cup of hot water |
4. | Heat the remaining cup of butter in a saucepan and fry the onion in it |
5. | When the onion turns into almonds, add dates, apricots, raisins and almonds and fry and pour half of the water mixed with butter into a large oven-proof bowl. |
6. | Top with a layer of cooked basmati rice saffron and a layer of date mixture. |
7. | After that add a layer of lentils and again basmati rice saffron dates and finally sprinkle the remaining butter mixed water on top and close the lid and simmer on low heat for about an hour. |
8. | You can also put it in an open-mouthed pot and then take it out in a dish and serve it |
